Simmer & Jack Landfill

Gas chilling for a 2,000 Nm³/h landfill-gas-to-electricity plant in Johannesburg.

Landfill gas

The project

Simmer & Jack is a landfill-gas-to-electricity project where the gas fires reciprocating engines. Engines are unforgiving of wet gas, so Renew supplied an APROVIS FriCon chiller sized for the full 2,000 Nm³/h flow.

Dry, cool gas protects the engines, reduces maintenance downtime and improves combustion efficiency.
