Gas flaring for all applications

Controlled combustion at 99.99%.

Hofstetter HOFGAS high, medium and emergency-temperature flares, fixed, containerised or mobile, with CDM-certified measurement for landfill, digester, mine and industrial gas.

Overview

Renew provides controlled combustion solutions for flammable gas emissions that meet stringent emission standards, for landfill gas, digestion gas, mine gas, industrial and special gas applications.

Our flares are supplied in partnership with Hofstetter Gas Technology of Switzerland, whose HOFGAS range has been the reference for CDM landfill and mine gas projects around the world. Renew adapts each unit for South African conditions, adds the CDM-certified measurement and data logging that verifiers require, and supports it for life.

Three flare families

Flares are not interchangeable. Destruction efficiency, retention time, combustion temperature and availability all depend on the design, and the right choice depends on what the project has to prove.

Flare types

HTF

High temperature flares

High availability, high temperature and long retention time flares for CDM projects and any application requiring complete destruction of gases.

  • Destruction efficiency >99.99%
  • Enclosed, insulated combustion chamber
  • Certified temperature and flow measurement
  • Bisasar Road, Vissershok, Bellville South, Coastal Park, Stellenbosch

MTF

Medium temperature flares

Designed for biogas, sewage gas, mine gas and wood gas, with a concealed combustion chamber operating above 850 °C.

  • Combustion efficiency >99%
  • Concealed flame, low visual impact
  • Ideal standby for engines and boilers
  • Harmony Gold Steyn 1

EMF

Emergency flares

The cost-conscious solution for the disposal of gas: a semi-open combustion chamber burning above 500 °C for standby and emergency duty.

  • Simple, robust and economical
  • Semi-open combustion chamber
  • Suited to intermittent operation
  • Mobile trailer versions available

Containerised plants

MGP: the complete plant in a box.

For landfill projects Renew builds the flare, extraction blowers, valves, condensate handling, gas analysis and control gear into a single MGP container that is wired, tested and commissioned before it leaves the workshop.

  • Site works limited to a slab, fence and gas connection
  • Sized from 400 to 3,000 Nm³/h
  • Relocatable as the gas field matures
  • Weather-sealed against coastal salt and blowing sand
