Lipp steel tanks

Steel tanks spun on site.

Lipp double-fold steel tanks for anaerobic digestion, wastewater, liquids, drinking water and bulk material. Edge-less, welded-joint free and erected by a crew of three.

Overview

Lipp tanks have been on the market for over 45 years with a unique design: built from the ground up on site using a patented double-fold system that interlocks coiled steel bands into a seamless, spiralling wall.

How a Lipp tank is built

A special profiling and folding machine draws steel strip from a coil, forms the edges and folds them into the band below. The wall rises as the machine rotates, producing an edge-less and smooth finish that guarantees maximum tightness and stability with no on-site welding and no bolted joints to leak.

Only one specialist and two competent assistants are needed to erect a tank, and a wide range of roof configurations, from open top to membrane gas roofs, can be fitted.

VERINOX duplex steel

Lipp developed VERINOX, a duplex material layer system that bonds a stainless steel interior to a galvanised steel back. The product side gets full corrosion resistance where it matters, while the hybrid construction offers substantial cost savings over solid stainless.

Applications

One construction method, every liquid and bulk substrate.

  • Digestion and wastewater

Anaerobic digesters, sludge storage and wastewater treatment tanks, with membrane gas roofs from Agrotel CenoTec.

  • Liquids and drinking water

Process liquids, effluent, fire water and potable water tanks in VERINOX or full stainless.

  • Bulk material and silos

Grain, meal, pellets and other bulk solids in special tanks and bulk silos.
